Privacy

A plain-language summary of what we collect and why. It is not legal advice. Last updated October 14, 2026.

If you only browse

You can explore countries, funding and search without an account. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

We count how often each page is viewed per day, and which university or researcher names are searched, without cookies and without anything about you. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is counted.

If you create an account

Sign-in is handled by Supabase Auth with your Google account. We store your email address and an account id.

Everything else is optional and entered by you: display name, nationality, target degree, research interests, your shortlist, applications and professor contacts. We also keep the language you use the site in. Reminders are created from your deadlines and follow-up dates.

We use this only to run your dashboard and reminders. We do not sell it or share it with universities, professors or advertisers.

We set only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember your language.

We keep a short activity log for running and protecting the site: when you sign in, and when you save, add or change items in your dashboard (not their content). It has no IP address, is seen only by the site’s admins, and is deleted after 180 days, or at once when you delete your account.

Your control

From your profile page you can download all your data as a file, or delete your account and its data at any time. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Reports you sent are kept, without your name.

If you report funding you received (“I got funding here”), we keep the report after you delete your account, without your name. It is only ever shown as a count on the university page.

If you are a researcher listed here

We show public professional information only: your name, affiliation, research fields and publication metrics from OpenAlex, and links to public profiles. We do not store researchers’ private email addresses, phone numbers or photos.

We show it to help students find supervisors who work in their field.

You can ask for your profile to be removed with the “Remove my profile” link on it. Removed profiles disappear from every page and are not imported again. We act on requests within 30 days. The email address you give is stored with the request, only to confirm it.

You can also update your profile with the “Is this you?” link: sign in with your published or university email and give your official page. We store that email and page with the request; a person checks it before anything changes.

Contact

To correct information about a university or professor, use the “Report wrong info” link on its page. You can download or delete your own account data from your profile page.

Messages sent from the contact page (your name, email and message) are kept to answer you and deleted a year after they are closed.
